Where were you?

I was in my 5th grade classroom when everyone got called the auditorium. We were told the news and people were freaking out. Parents called out their kids and picked them up. I remember staying in school for the rest of the day and coming home to find my parents (as my dad was alive at the time) and sister watching the news and seeing the towers collapsing over and over :( A girl in my brother's grade, who was only 7 at the time, lost her father that day. My friend in a town 5 minutes away saw the towers collapsing from a classroom window.

Never forget.

My grandfather on my mother's side (who lives in Princeton) used to work in NYC and would take a train into the city that stopped at the WLC. It was a sheer miracle that he had a breakfast meeting in NJ prior to his workday that he missed that particular train and took a different one that got off at Penn Station. He saw the destruction of the towers through a train window.

Thanks so much, it was hell trying to get a hold of him to see of he was okay that day due to phone line congestion.
